
What is Joy @ Work?
Before Joy made a huge career switch to follow her heart, she worked in corporate America as a mechanical engineer, and as exciting as designing shell-and-tube heat exchangers sounds, she definitely knows firsthand what it feels like to spend Sunday night dreading Monday morning and the rest of the week wishing your life away until Friday. This is not how life is supposed to be! Life is meant to be exciting, fun, and effortless, and the Joy Yoga practice focuses on feeling this joy, peace, and grace, regardless of what pose (or what circumstance in life) you're currently in. Being able to feel happy at work doesn't necessariliy mean you switch jobs; it means learning to switch your perspective and your focus. Joy@Work gives employees the tools to feel joyful in every moment, which creates a positive, supportive work environment.
The Joy@Work program reaches out and goes into corporations to share techniques for reducing stress. The program is flexible and can be designed to fit the needs of your employees and the culture of your company. What we envision is an initial half-day kick-off, which will guide employees and give them the tools to shift their focus so that they can find Joy@Work! A happy, stress-free employee is a healthy, loyal, dedicated, and far more productive employee. After the kick-off, one of Joy's Angels can be scheduled to come to your site once a week to guide employees through breathing and meditation techniques to keep stress low and morale high.
